Cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network due to personal VPN connection

Sometimes you might find that you can't connect to a GTIIT Wi-Fi network or printer service in campus, more than likely it's due to the personal VPN software running on the same device. Turn off the VPN connection, and then the campus internet connection will resume working.

  1. In some cases, VPN might also manually modify your system proxy and DNS settings. Go to Control Panel (press keys "Windows" & "R", enter "control"), right click on the network connection and select Properties.

  2. If you saw any static IP address here, please select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, then click OK

  3. In Windows Operating System, press WINDOWS logo and type Proxy, select Change proxy settings

  4. Turn Off proxy server if it was in ON state.

If you still have issues with it, please email itsupport@gtiit.edu.cn
